CID renamed as Counter Terrorism Department

KARACHI: Crime Investigation Department (CID) was renamed as Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday.

The decision to rename the department was taken after following formulation of National Action Plan (NAP).

An official notification was issued by the Sindh Home Department in this regard on Monday.

CTD officials and personnel have been given special powers and will be able to conducts raids and arrest suspects from any area of the city irrespective of their jurisdiction. The officials will also be given more risk allowance.
