Brothers charged in murder case

Police had raided the suspects’ residence, but no arrests were made.

Three brothers of MNA Shagufta Jumani, were charged in a murder case on Thursday. An FIR was registered against them at the Sakhi Pir police station. Sajjad, Mazhar and Jamil have been accused of killing their friend, Shiraz Subehpoto, after an argument at an engagement ceremony on Wednesday.


The complainant and Shiraz’s brother, Shabbir Subehpoto, said that his brother was threatened with death during the fight. “They chased him to our uncle’s house where he was shot,” said Shabbir.

SHO Yousuf Qureshi told The Express Tribune that Subehpoto was drunk when he was killed.

He suspected that the accused people were also drunk. He claimed that the police had raided the suspects’ residence, but no arrests were made. Sajjad Jumani was an Excise Inspector.
